An Introduction to Wera Tools

One of the best kept secrets in the world of high quality hand tools is Wera. Wera Tools has been in the tool business since 1936 where they have driven the innovation of tools in surprising ways. Nowadays, they’ve branded fans of their brand as “tool rebels” and it’s easy to see why. Their designs are colorful and shaped in unique ways and the feel of each tool is smooth and solid. it's not a tool for those that conform, although it should be.

Although Wera originated Germany, they have expanded their manufacturing to other countries like the Czech Republic. Don’t worry though, Wera Tools are German engineered and stand up to the scrutiny of German manufacturing standards. The quality of Wera Tools is so high that they are covered under warranty so long as the breakage of the tools was due to defects in the materials or workmanship for the normal life of the product. Given how strong Wera Tools feel, this is probably a rare occurrence along the lines of seeing a unicorn or a leprechaun. Their tools are THAT solid.

Wera also believes so strongly in innovation that they have made innovations to tools that most would find no room to innovate. After all a tool's a tool. But one look at a Wera Tool like the Zyklopp Ratchet, for example, added the ability to ratchet at angles, and the Wera Kraftform Kompakt handle has essentially made the screwdriver a one-handed tool. In addition to innovating tools, Wera also offers calibration service for your torque tools ensuring that your tools are providing just the right amount of pressure on the job.

Wera also takes part in some interesting extracurricular events like tradeshows where they showcase their newest and best tools. They also work closely with Red Bull to manufacture tools under the Red Bull Racing label. How they managed to make cool tools look even cooler is a mystery.

Wera is a somewhat underpublicized tool manufacturer. While they’ve been around for more than 80 years, only tool rebels and tool fanatics know about them and use them. Investing in Wera Tools for your workspace is a decision you won’t regret, and even with some good use with these tools, it’s a good bet they’ll be in good enough condition to pass on to the next generation.
